Section 4. The second paragraph of section 16 of chapter 73 of the General Laws, as appearing in section 15 of chapter 642 of the acts of 1963, is hereby amended by inserting after the word "schedule", in line 6, the words: except that any such salary may be fixed at any amount not less than the minimum salary nor more than the maximum salary shown in the said schedule. Section 5. The third paragraph of said section 16 of said chapter 73, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting after the word "means ", in line 11, the words: except that any such salary may be fixed at any amount not less than the minimum salary nor more than the maximum salary shown in the said schedule. Section 6. The second paragraph of section 42 of chapter 74 of the General Laws, as appearing in section of chapter 696 of the acts of 1963, is hereby amended by inserting after the word "schedule", in line 4, the words: except that any such salary may be fixed at any amount not less than the minimum salary nor more than the maximum salary shown in the said schedule.
