1973 Chap. 1228. The commissioner shall appoint one member as chairman. Each member shall hold office for term of four years and until his successor is appointed and qualified. The committee shall meet as frequently as the chairman deems necessary, but not less than once each year. The committee members shall serve without compensation but shall be reimbursed for actual expenses incurred in carrying out their official duties. Section 6c. The department shall: (a) With the advice of the committee, develop standards for determining eligibility for and the nature of treatment under this program; (b) Extend financial assistance to persons suffering from hemophilia in obtaining blood, blood derivatives and concentrates', and other efficacious agents for treatment of hemophilia in hospital, medical and dental facilities, and at home; (c) Assist in the development and expansion of programs for the care and treatment of persons suffering from hemophilia, including self-administration, prevention, and home care and other medical and dental procedures and techniques designed to provide maximum control over bleeding episodes typical of this condition; (d) Institute and carry on educational programs among physicians, dentists, hospitals, public health departments, and the public concerning hemophilia, including dissemination of information and the conducting of educational programs concerning the methods of care and treatment of persons suffering from this condition; and (e) Promulgate all rules and regulations necessary to effectuate the purposes of this section and sections six and six B.
