At a Great and General court or Assembly for the Province of the Massachusetts-Bay, begun and held at Boston the 27th Day of May 1747... voted, that it be, and hereby is, strongly recommended to the several Churches and Congregations within this Province, to make an honourable Provision for the support of their Ministers, proportionable to the great Rise of the necessaries of Life since their Settlement.
