Chap. 0101 An Act to establish The Oakham Cotton and Woollen Factory Company. Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, That Luke Robinson, Asa French, jun. and Eli Fairbanks, Avith such others as may hereafter associate with them, their successors and assigns, be, and they hereby are made a corporation, by the name of The Oakham Village Cotton and Woollen Factory Company, for the manufacture of cotton and woollen cloth and yarn, in the town of Oakham, in the county of Worcester; and for this purpose shall have all the powers and privileges, and shall also be subject to all the duties and requirements prescribed and contained in an act, passed on the third day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nine, entitled "An act defining the general powers and duties of manufacturing corporations.79 Sec. 2. Be it further enacted, That the said Corporation may lawfully hold and possess such real estate to the value of ten thousand dollars, and such personal estate, to the value of twenty thousand dollars, as may be necessary and convenient for carrying on the foianu-facture of cotton and woollen cloth and yarn in the said town of Oakham.
