Chap. 0544 Act providing for the payment of rent for an office used for court purposes by the trial justice in the town of barre. Re it enacted, etc., as follows: Chapter 219 of the General Laws is hereby amended by striking out section 5, as appearing in the Tercentenary Edition, and inserting in place thereof the following: - Section 5. Cases before trial justices may be heard and determined at any convenient and suitable place. The reasonable and necessary expenses, not exceeding ten dollars a month, actually incurred by a trial justice for the rent of an office used by him for court purposes, shall be paid by the county where the office is located, in the same manner as the expenses for rent of district courts. Notwithstanding the provisions of this section a sum not exceeding thirty-five dollars a month may be paid for the rent of such an office by the trial justice in the town of Barre. Trial justices may adjourn their courts in all cases to any other time or place, but not exceeding ten days at any one time against the objection of the defendant. Approved July 21, 1951.
