Chap. 200. An Act authorizing the town of millis to grant an EASEMENT UPON, ACROSS, OVER AND UNDER CERTAIN LAND FOR THE TRANSMISSION OF INTELLIGENCE, TO AMERICAN TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH COMPANY. Be it enacted, etc., as follows: Section 1. Notwithstanding any provision of any general or special law to the contrary, the town of Millis is hereby authorized, upon such terms and for such consideration as the board of selectmen of said town may determine, to grant to American Telephone and Telegraph Company, a telephone and telegraph company organized and existing under the laws of the state of New York, an easement for the construction, operation, maintenance, replacement and removal of an underground communication system upon, across, over and under a certain portion of land of the town of Millis held as park land, said portion of land being a strip of land twenty feet wide, parallel with and adjacent to Union street, for a distance of approximately one hundred and seventy-five feet, on the property described in a deed dated November seventh, eighteen hundred and ninety, and recorded in Book six hundred and forty-five at Page four hundred and thirty-eight, Norfolk County registry of deeds. Said easement shall be in such form and at such locations as the said board of selectmen may approve and deem proper. Section 2. Any action taken by the town of Millis at its annual town meeting held on March thirteenth, nineteen hundred and sixty-seven pursuant to the authority contained in this act shall be as valid and effective for all purposes as though this act had been in full force and effect at the time of the posting of the warrant for said meeting.
