Chap. 355. An Act further regulating the recovery of possession BY SUMMARY PROCESS OF CERTAIN PREMISES IN CASES OF VIOLATION OF STANDARDS OF FITNESS FOR HUMAN HABITATION. Be it enacted, etc., as follows: The first paragraph of section 8A of chapter 239 of the General Laws, as appearing in section 1 of chapter 420 of the acts of 1967, is hereby amended by adding the following sentence:— Written notification to the landlord of the existence of any violation which may endanger or materially impair the health or safety of persons occupying the premises issued by the board of health, by a local agency having like powers of inspection relative to the fitness of premises for human habitation or relative to conditions which may endanger or materially impair the health or safety of persons occupying premises for dwelling purposes, or, in the city of Boston, by the commissioner of housing inspection, shall satisfy and be the equivalent of the notice requirement of clause (1) of this paragraph.
