Chap. 435. An Act providing that the chief of police of a city OR TOWN AND CERTAIN OTHER HEADS OF POLICE DEPARTMENTS SHALL BE GRANTED AN ADDITIONAL DAY'S PAY IF ON DUTY ON CERTAIN HOLIDAYS. Be it enacted, etc., as follows: Section 1. Chapter 147 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 17E the following section: — Acts, 1969. — Chaps. 436, 437. 245 Section 17F. If the superintendent of police in the city of Lowell, the city marshal in the cities of Newburyport and Salem, or the chief of police in any other city or town, is on duty at any time on January first, July fourth, October twelfth, November eleventh or Christmas day or the day following when any of the above days occur on a Sunday, or on the third Monday in February, the third Monday in April, the last Monday in May, the first Monday in September or Thanksgiving day, he shall be granted an additional day's pay. Section 2. Section fifty-seven F of chapter forty-eight of the General Laws, inserted by chapter seven hundred and eighty-six of the acts of nineteen hundred and sixty-five, is hereby repealed.
