Chap. 45. An Act authorizing the city of Lawrence to appropriate money for the payment of and to pay compensation for working overlapping shifts to certain members of the police department of said city.
Be it enacted, etc., as follows:
Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the city of Lawrence is hereby authorized to appropriate the sum of four thousand eight hundred and twenty-seven dollars and fifty-five cents, and after such appropriation the treasurer of said city is authorized to pay certain members of the police department of said city in accordance with an arbitration award between the International Brotherhood of Police Officers, Local 395 and the city of Lawrence, American Arbitration Association, case No. 1139-0223-74, for overlapping shift compensation for services performed by such members in the fiscal year nineteen hundred and seventy-three.
