Chap. 9. AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO FUND COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENTS BETWEEN THE MASSACHUSETTS BOARD OF REGENTS OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND CERTAIN EMPLOYEE ORGANIZATIONS. Be it enacted, etc., as follows: SECTION 1. To provide for the cost of salary adjustments and other employee benefits authorized by the collective bargaining agreements between the Massachusetts board of regents of higher education and the employee organizations listed in section two of this act, the sums set forth in said section two are hereby appropriated, subject to the provisions of law regulating the disbursements of public funds and the conditions pertaining to appropriations in chapter two hundred and eighty-nine of the acts of nineteen hundred and eighty-three and subject to the provisions set forth in section three of this act. SECTION 2. EXECUTIVE OFFICE OF ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE. Collective Bargaining. 1599-3221 For a reserve to meet the cost of salary adjustments and other employee economic benefits authorized by the collective bargaining agreement between the Massachusetts board of regents of higher education and the National Association of Government Employees, Local R1-233 at the University of Lowell $170,871.81 1599-3222 For a reserve to meet the cost of salary adjustments and other employee economic benefits authorized by the collective bargaining agreement between the Massachusetts board of regents of higher education and the Service Employees International Union, AFL-CIO, Local 254 at the University of Lowell $143,071.48 1599-3229) For a reserve to meet the cost of salary ad-) justments and other employee economic 1599-3266) benefits authorized by the collective bar- gaining agreement between the Massachusetts board of regents of higher education and the International Brotherhood of Police Officers, Local 432 (Units A and B) at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst $35,982.00 1599-3263 For a reserve to meet the cost of salary adjustments and other employee economic benefits authorized by the collective bargaining agreement between the Massachusetts board of regents of higher education and the International Brotherhood of Police Officers, Local 399 at Southeastern Massachusetts University $19,835.00 1599-3264 For a reserve to meet the cost of salary adjustments and other employee economic benefits authorized by the collective bargaining agreement between the Massachusetts board of regents of higher education and the National Association of Government Employees, Local R1-245 at Southeastern Massachusetts University $90,674.00 SECTION 3. The amounts appropriated in section two are to meet the cost of salary adjustments and other employee economic benefits authorized by the collective bargaining agreements between the Massachusetts board of regents of higher education and the National Association of Government Employees, Local R1-233 at the University of Lowell, the Service Employees International Union, AFL-CIO, Local 254 at the University of Lowell, the International Brotherhood of Police Officers, Local 432 (Units A and B) at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, the International Brotherhood of Police Officers, Local 399 at Southeastern Massachusetts University, and the National Association of Government Employees, Local R1-245 at Southeastern Massachusetts University, collectively known as Higher Education Coalition Two; provided, however, that the commissioner of administration is hereby authorized to transfer from the sums appropriated to other items of appropriation for the fiscal year nineteen hundred and eighty-four, such amounts as are necessary to meet the cost of said adjustments and benefits for the fiscal year nineteen hundred and eighty-four and prior years where the amounts otherwise available are insufficient for the purpose; provided, further, that the commissioner of administration is further authorized to allocate the cost of such salary adjustments and benefits to the several state or other funds to which such items of appropriation are charged; provided, further, that copies of each said collective bargaining agreement, together with an analysis of all cost items contained in said agreement and all changes to be made in the schedules of permanent and temporary positions required by said agreement, shall be filed with the house and senate committees on ways and means prior to the transfer or allocation of any amounts necessary to meet the cost of said adjustments and benefits; and provided, further, that no transfers shall be made without prior approval of the house and senate committees on ways and means. SECTION 4. This act shall take effect upon its passage. Approved March 20, 1984.
