Chap. 429. AN ACT PROVIDING FUNDS FOR EMERGENCY REMEDIAL MEASURES TO PREVENT CIVIL DISORDERS IN THE CITY OF LAWRENCE. Be it enacted, etc., as follows: SECTION 1. To provide for supplementing certain items in the general appropriation act and for certain new activities and projects, the sums set forth in seciton two, for the several purposes and subject to the provisions of law regulating the disbursement of public funds and the conditions pertaining to appropriations in chapter two hundred and thirty-four of the acts of nineteen hundred and eighty-four, are hereby appropriated from the General Fund, unless specifically designated otherwise, for the fiscal year ending June thirtieth, ninteen hundred and eighty-five or for such period as may be specified, the sums so appropriated to be in addition to any amounts available for the purpose. SECTION 2. EXECUTIVE OFFICE FOR ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE. Miscellaneous. Item 1599-3470 For a reserve for the emergency operating costs of responding to the civil dis- , orders which occurred in the city of Lawrence in August, nineteen hundred and eighty-four; provided, that such costs may include overtime of city and state employees, cost of equipment and supplies, and other expenses directly attributed for the quelling of said disorders; and provided, further, that said amount shall be paid by the comptroller only after receipt of an itemized accounting of such expenses which has been certified by the mayor of said city or another appropriate official $400,000 EXECUTIVE OFFICE OF COMMUNITIES AND DEVELOPMENT.
