Chap. 0358 An Act to authorize savings banks to make loans on life insurance policies. Be it enacted, etc., as follows: Section 1. In addition to the loans authorized by the eighth clause of section sixty-eight of chapter five hundred and ninety of the acts of the year nineteen hundred and eight, savings banks may loan on notes of responsible borrowers in such form as the bank commissioner may approve, with a pledge as collateral of policies issued by life insurance companies approved by the bank commissioner and properly assigned to the bank, but not exceeding ninety per cent of the cash surrender value of the policies assigned as security for the payment of any such loan; but the aggregate of such loans made by any savings bank shall not exceed one per cent of its deposits. Section 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage. Approved April S, 1910.
