Chap. 0001 An Act making appropriations for the maintenance of the government for the present year.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives, in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :

Section 1. The sums hereinafter mentioned are appropriated to be paid out of the treasury, from the ordinary revenue, for the purposes specified, to meet the expenses for the year ending on the thirty-first day of December, in the year eighteen hundred and seventy-seven, to wit:-

supreme judicial court.

For the salary of the clerk of the supreme judicial court of the Commonwealth, three thousand dollars.

For the salary of the. reporter of the decisions of the supreme judicial court, three hundred dollars.

For clerk hire and incidental expenses of the reporter of the decisions of said court, a sum not exceeding one thousand five hundred dollars.

For the salary of the chief justice of the superior court, five thousand three hundred dollars.
