Brimfield 59 --Caption title. Width of road: 20 ft. Traveled way: width 10 ft., grade 1 ft. per 100. Surface: flat, uneven, soft, loose sand with ruts 14 in. deep material: sand with large rocks below surface sides: right, slopes down natural slope, left, slopes up natural slope gutters: right, natural slope, left, none sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: A very bad road, for it is full of obstructions in the shape of large stones which protrude above surface. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
