Width of road: 13 ft. Travelled way: width 13 ft., grade 11 ft. per 100. Surface: crowned 1 ft., soft and very slippery, mud material: gravel and clay sides: right, slopes down to gutter then up, left, slopes down to gutter then up gutters: right, 3 ft 9 in. deep, left, 3 ft. deep sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: A very bad road, for grade is heavy and foothold for horses poor. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
