Surface: crowned 21 in., hard where worn down, lately re-surfaced material: gravel sides: right, edge of rut rises up 14 in., left, edge of rut rises up 7 in. gutters: right, 2 ft. deep, left, 2 ft. deep sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: Carriage on left tips causing strain on axel and wheels. Ruts on edge prevent water draining off of surface. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
