Huntington 99 --Caption title. Width of road: 20 ft. Traveled way: width 15 ft., grade 2 ft. per 100. Surface: crowned 3 in., soft, with loose sand and gravel, ruts 11 in. deep material: sand and gravel sides: right, covered with trees, slopes up, left, covered with trees, slopes up then down to river gutters: right, 5 in. deep, left, 7 in. deep sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: road is in very poor condition. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
