Surface: uneven, soft turf with ruts in it, ruts 12 in. deep material: sand with large stones sides: right, slopes down embankment, left, slopes down embankment gutters: right, at foot of slope 10 ft., left, at foot of slope 7 ft. sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: Road is a fill and it broadens at top of hill. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
