Shrewsbury 28 --Caption title. Width of road: 37 ft. Traveled way: width 22 ft., grade 2 ft. per 100. Surface: crowned 4 in., hard and smooth with few loose stones on top material: gravel sides: right, slopes down into gutter then up, left, slopes down into gutter then up gutters: right, 1 ft. deep, left, 14 in. deep sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: good example of gravel road. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
