Width of road: 7 ft. Travelled way: width 6 ft., grade 0 ft. per 100. Surface: flat, with ruts on either edge. Ruts are hard at bottom material: sand and leaves sides: right, rises 2 ft. 3 in. vertically then level, left, roses 2 ft. vertically then level gutters: right, none except the wheel ruts, left, none except the wheel ruts sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: The trees are on the edge of this road and the leaves fill up the sand ruts and prevent wheels from sinking in. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
