Littleton 209 --Caption title. Width of road: 40 ft. Traveled way: width 27 ft., grade 2 ft. per 100. Surface: crowned 6 in., soft, loose, worn out gravel 2 in. deep material: gravel, worn out on hard gravel base sides: right, slopes down, left, slopes down into gutter, then up gutters: right, natural slope down, left, 14 in. deep sidewalks: right, none, left, 4 ft wide, with grass border. Remarks: A good road, but for worn out material on surface. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
