Palmer 60 --Caption title. Width of road: 20 ft. Traveled way: width 15 ft., grade 6 ft. per 100. Surface: flat, soft with loose sand 2 in. deep and loose rocks 4 in. in diameter material: right, sand with large stones sides: right, grass embankment slopes up, left, grass embankment slopes up 4 in. then down gutters: right, none, left, none sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: Surface is covered with large stones, making it dangerous for horses. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
