Wellesley 9 --Caption title. Width of road: 50 ft. Traveled way: width 32 ft., grade 1 ft. per 100. Surface: crowned 7 in., a little muddy in places material: gravel hard, worn out in places sides: right, grass embankment slopes up to sidewalk, left, grass embankment slopes up to sidewalk gutters: right, 8 in. deep, left, 10 in. deep sidewalks: right, 9 ft. wide, 7 in. above gutter, left, 9 ft wide 10 in. above gutter. Remarks: good road, but needs a little repair. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
