Fitchburg 197 --Caption title. Width of road: 35 ft. Traveled way: width 26 ft., grade 0 ft. per 100. Surface: crowned 6 in., right side 1 ft. lower than left, hard and smooth material: gravel sides: right, slopes down natural slope, left, slopes down natural slope gutters: right, natural slope down, left, natural slope down sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: Car track on left not paved prevents drainage on that side of road. Road is good and hard. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
