Ayer 206 --Caption title. Width of road: 25 ft. Traveled way: width 17 ft., grade 6 ft. per 100. Surface: crowned 3 in., uneven, soft, loose sand and gravel material: sand with a little gravel sides: right, slopes down to gutter, left, slopes down to gutter, then up gutters: right, 14 in. deep, left, 10 in. deep sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: Road would be good, if loose material was removed from surface. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
