Russell 89 --Caption title. Width of road: 26 ft. Traveled way: width 18 ft., grade 0 ft. per 100. Surface: crowned 15 in., uneven, soft, loose sand 7 in. deep material: sand and gravel sides: right, grass bank slopes up from gutter, left, grass bank slopes up from gutter gutters: right, 17 in. deep, left, 15 in. deep sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: Very poor road. No labor has been spent in repairing it. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
