Surface: crowned 9 in., uneven, soft loose sand with ruts 4 in. deep material: sand sides: right, grass embankment slopes up, left, grass embankment slopes up gutters: right, 14 in. deep, left, 11 in. deep sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: Road is hard 4 in. below loose surface. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
