Width of road: 32 ft. Travelled way: width 32 ft., grade 5 ft. per 100. Surface: flat, uneven, soft, loose sand, with ruts 11 in. deep material: sand with a little gravel sides: right, slopes up from gutter, left, slopes up from gutter gutters: right, 3 in. deep, left, 1 ft. deep sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: Road is very poor, as loose sand is very deep on hill. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
