Ayer 207 --Caption title. Width of road: 16 ft. Traveled way: width 12 ft., grade 2 ft. per 100. Surface: flat, soft, loose, fine gravel worn to dust, 2 in. deep material: fine gravel sides: right, slopes up from gutter, left, slopes up from gutter gutters: right, 5 in. deep, left, 4 in. deep sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: Travelled way is too flat and needs re-surfacing. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
