Width of road: 20 ft. Travelled way: width 18 ft., grade 0 ft. per 100. Surface: crowned 4 in., uneven, soft, loose sand and gravel, ruts 4 in. deep material: sand with a very little gravel sides: right, slopes down into gutter then up, left, slopes up from gutter gutters: right, 8 in. deep, left, 4 in. deep sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: Road is very rough, for in the ruts large stones protrude. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
