Templeton 186 --Caption title. Width of road: 20 ft. Traveled way: width 15 ft., grade 3 ft. per 100. Surface: flat, slopes to left, fairly hard, very little loose grave on top material: gravel sides: right, slopes up, left, slopes down then up gutters: right, none, left, 8 in. deep sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: Left side 8 in. lower than right. Sides are being plowed up and the turf and washed dirt are being scraped into middle of travelled way. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
