Orange 174 --Caption title. Width of road: 18 ft. Traveled way: width 18 ft., grade 2 ft. per 100. Surface: flat, uneven, soft loose sand and gravel with ruts 8 in. deep material: sand and gravel on gravel base sides: right, slopes down a natural slope, left, slopes up a natural slope gutters: right, natural slope down, left, none sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: Road is poor, but could be easily made a good one, for a good gravel bank is on the left. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
