Acton 213 --Caption title. Width of road: 17 ft. Traveled way: width 17 ft., grade 3 ft. per 100. Surface: crowned 4 in., uneven, hard only where it has been travelled material: gravel recently put on sides: right, slopes down to gutter, left, slopes down to gutter gutters: right, 3 ft. deep, left, 3 ft. deep sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: Gravel wears hard and smooth. It has been dumped on and leveled very unevenly. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
