Shelburne 157 --Caption title. Width of road: 25 ft. Traveled way: width 21 ft., grade 0 ft. per 100. Surface: flat, uneven, left side 3 ft. higher than right, loose sand and grave, ruts 11 in. deep material: sand with a little flint gravel sides: right, level, left, slopes up gutters: right, 3 ft. below left side, left, none sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: A very bad road for ruts are soft and fill up with loose sand. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
