Templeton 187 --Caption title. Width of road: 40 ft. Traveled way: width 34 ft., grade 7 ft. per 100. Surface: flat, sloping to left, soft, loose sand and gravel 5 in. deep material: sand and gravel on a hard gravel base sides: right, slopes down to gutter then up, left, slopes up from edge of travelled way gutters: right, 3 ft. deep, left, none sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: A very poor road, for hard gravel base is very uneven. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
