West Springfield 82 --Caption title. Width of road: 35 ft. Traveled way: width 18 ft., grade 1 ft. per 100. Surface: crowned 3 in., hard and smooth material: gravel, hard same as sample 82 sides: right, grass bank slopes down to gutter, left, grass bank slopes down to gutter then up gutters: right, 3 ft. deep, left, 18 in. deep sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: A fine gravel road. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
