An Act For Superceeding And Repealing The Two Last Paragraphs In An Act Made And Passed By The Great And General Court Or Assembly Of This Province, At Their Sessions Begun And Held At Boston On The Last Wednesday In May In The Ninth Year Of His Majesty's Reign, Intitled "An Act For Supplying The Treasury With The Sum Of Eighty-Eight Thousand One Hundred And Fifty-Eight Pounds, To Be Thence Issued For Discharging The Public Debts, And Drawing The Same Into The Treasury Again;" And For Apportioning And Assessing A Tax Of Twenty-Five Thousand Pounds; And Also For Apportioning And Assessing A Tax Of Two Thousand Five Hundred And Fifty-Nine Pounds Seventeen Shillings, Paid The Representatives For Their Travel, Service And Attendance In The Great And General Court In The Year One Thousand Seven Hundred And Sixty-Nine; Also For Assessing The Town Of Swansey, Fifty Pounds, Being Part Of The Sum Of Three Hundred Pounds Lent The Said Town In The Year One Thousand Seven Hundred And Sixty-Four; Also For Assessing The Town Of Hingham And District Of Cohasset, Four Pounds Seventeen Shillings, In The Following Proportion; To Wit, Three Pounds Eight Shillings And Sixpence One Farthing, On Hingham, And One Pound Eight Shillings And Sixpence Three Farthings, On Cohasset, For The Service Of A Committee Of The General Court In Viewing Their Situation In Order To A Division; Also For Assessing The Town Of Uxbridge Six Pounds Eight Shillings And Sevenpence, For Paying A Committee Appointed By The General Court To View And Settle The Line Between The Towns Of Sutton And Uxbridge; Also For Assessing The Town Of Framingham The Sum Of Fifty-Four Pounds Thirteen Shillings And Threepence Two Farthings, Ordered By The General Court To Be Added To Their Proportion Of The Province Tax This Year, Being One-Half Of The Arrears Of The Proportion Of The Province Tax, Set On The Said Town In The Year One Thousand Seven Hundred And Sixty-Five, Hitherto Unpaid By Reason Of The Deficiency Of Joseph Butler, A Collector Of Taxes For The Town In That Year; And Also For Assessing The District Of Granby Forty Pounds Twelve Shillings And Ninepence, Being Part Of The Sum Set On The District Of South Hadley In The Province Tax For The Last Year, Which Of Right Should Have Been Set On The Said District Of Granby, And Of Which Part The District Of South Hadley Has Been Discharged By An Order Of The General Court; And Also For Assessing On The Towns Of Ipswich, Middleton, Reading, Boxford And Danvers, The Sum Of Five Pounds Seventeen Shillings, In The Following Proportion; Viz., On The Town Of Ipswich, The Sum Of Fifty-Three Shillings And Eightpence Three Farthings; On The Town Of Middleton, Eight Shillings And Fivepence; On The Town Of Reading, Nineteen Shillings And Two Farthings; On The Town Of Boxford, Eleven Shillings And Ninepence Three Farthings; On The Town Of Danvers, Twenty-Four Shillings, --To Pay A Committee Of The General Court Appointed At Their Request, To View Ipswich River, And By The Said Court Ordered To Be Paid By Said Towns In The Aforesaid Proportions; And Also For Assessing The Town Of Sherburne, In The County Of Nantucket, The Sum Of Three Hundred Ninety-Eight Pounds Seven Shillings And Seven-Pence, Being One-Half The Sum That Town Is In Arrears Arising By The Deficiency Of Thomas Arthur, A Collector Of Taxes For The Years One Thousand Seven Hundred And Sixty-Five And One Thousand Seven Hundred And Sixty-Six; Also For Assessing The Following Towns The Sums Affixed To Them, Respectively, Being Fines Imposed On Them For Their Neglect In Not Chusing Some Person, Severally, To Represent Them In The Great And General Court; Viz., Chelsea, Seven Pounds; Wenham, Four Pounds; Middleton, Seven Pounds; Methuen, Eight Pounds; Sherburne, In The County Of Middlesex, Six Pounds; Littleton, Eight Po-Unds; Westford, Eight Pounds; Townsend And District Of Ashby, Five Pounds; Wilmington, Five Pounds; Dracut, Five Pounds; Bedford, Six Pounds; Holliston, Five Pounds; Tewksbury, Six Pounds; Dunstable, Five Pounds; Lincoln, Five Pounds; Northfield, Five Pounds; Easton, Five Pounds; Dudley, Four Pounds; Southborough, Five Pounds; Upton, Five Pounds; Weston, Eight Pounds; Westminster, Six Pounds; North Yarmouth, Five Pounds; Scarborough, Ten Pounds; Gorham, Six Pounds; Georgetown, Ten Pounds; Richmont And Lenox, Five Pounds; Lanesborough, Five Pounds; Also For Assessing The Districts Of Shelburne And Conway The Sum Of Four Pounds Seven Shillings And Ten- Pence, Being Part Of The Sum Set On Deerfield, Last Year, For Pay Of Their Representative, And Which Ought To Have Been Set On Said Deerfield And The Two Districts Above Mentioned, In Proportion To Their Province Tax; Viz., On Shelburne, Two Pounds Ten Shillings And Four-Pence, And On Conway, Thirty-Seven Shillings And Six Pence.
