Surface: crowned 4 in., hard and smooth material: gravel, subsoil is sand sides: right, slopes down 2 ft. then level 9 ft., left, slopes down into gutter then up gutters: right, 2 ft. deep, 9 ft. wide, left, 1 ft.. deep sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: Where picture is taken a gutter is on right side, but a little further on a sidewalk 9 ft. wide commences . Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
