Chap. 0064 An Act to change the names of certain persons therein mentioned. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, That Ebenezer Stoddard of Salem, in the county of Essex, trader, shall be allowed to take the name of William Couillard Stoddard; and that Moses Smith Fox of Williamsburg, in the county of Hampshire, yeoman, shall be allowed to take the name of Augustine Washington Fox ; and the said persons, from the time of the passing this act, shall be called and known by the names which by this act they are severally allowed to take as aforesaid, and the same shall be considered as their only proper and legal names. * [Approved by the Governor, Oct. 24, 1812.]
