Chap. 0477 An Act in addition to "An Act to establish a Police Court in the Town of Chelsea." Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives, in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as folloios : Sect. 1. A court shall be held, by the justice of said police court, at some suitable and convenient place, to be provided at the expense of said town of Chelsea, on each day of the week, Sundays excepted, at eight of the clock in the forenoon, to take cognizance of all crimes, offences and misdemeanors' and on one day in each week, at eight of the clock in the forenoon, and at such other times as may be necessary, for the trial of civil suits and actions. Sect. 2. All fines, forfeitures and penalties, accruing for the breach of any of the ordinances of the board of health, or of any of the orders of the selectmen of said town of Chelsea, or of any of the laws of this Commonwealth, whereof justices of the peace now have, or may hereafter have jurisdiction, may be prosecuted for, and recovered before, said police court, by complaint or information, in the same manner in which other criminal offences are now prosecuted before the police courts in this Commonwealth. Sect. 3. All acts and parts of acts, inconsistent with this act, are hereby repealed. Sect. 4. This act shall take effect on and after its passage. [Approved by the Governor, May 21, 1855.]
