Chap. 0127 An Act to increase the number of Justices of the Supreme Judicial Court. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives, in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows : Sect. 1. The number of justices of the Supreme Judicial Court shall be six instead of five, as now provided by law. Sect. 2. Three justices shall be a quorum at any law term of the said court to decide questions of law, or at any trial or hearing required to be had before the full court. Sect. 3. This act shall take effect from and after its passage. [Approved by the Governor, April 20, 1852.]
