Chap. 111. An Act providing an increase in the annual amount OF PENSION AND RETIREMENT ALLOWANCE OF CERTAIN MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES RETIRED FOR DISABILITY WHO HAVE REACHED THE AGE OF SEVENTY-FIVE. Be it enacted, etc., as follows: Section 1. Notwithstanding any provisions of law to the contrary, any retired county, city or town employee who was retired for disability or accidental disability under any general or special law and who on the first day of July, nineteen hundred and sixty-one has attained the age of seventy-five and is receiving a pension or retirement allowance of less than two thousand dollars shall have said allowance increased to two thousand dollars. Section 2. The increase granted by this act with respect to pensions, retirement allowances, and annuities payable by a county, city or town shall take effect when accepted in a county by the county commissioners thereof, in a city having a Plan E charter by the affirmative vote of a majority of all the members of the city council, in a city not having such a charter by vote of the city council subject to the provisions of the charter of such city, and in a town by a majority vote at a town meeting.
