Chap. 443.   An Act allowing the director of civil service to
ESTABLISH EDUCATIONAL STANDARDS FOR POLICE APPLICANTS, UPON WRITTEN REQUEST OF THE APPOINTING AUTHORITY.
Be it enacted, etc., as follows:
Section 6A of chapter 31 of the General Laws, as most recently amended by section 1 of chapter 775 of the acts of 1965, is hereby further amended by adding the following paragraph: —
Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, upon written request of an appointing authority that certain educational qualifications be required for applicants for entrance to the police service in his particular jurisdiction, such educational requirements may be established by the director.
