Chap. 0749 An Act relative to the payment of interest on inheritance taxes.

Be it enacted, etc., as follows:

Section 11 of chapter 65 of the General Laws, as appearing in the Tercentenary Edition, is hereby amended by adding at the end the following: - ; provided, however, that if a sum equal to not less than four fifths of the amount of the tax is paid to the commissioner on or before the date it becomes due, no interest shall be charged or collected on the remainder of the tax until thirty days after the bill for such taxes is sent by the commissioner.
