Please note that there are some peculiarities with respect to the numbering for the Acts of 1819. In the publication of the Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, which includes all laws passed during the 1819 sessions, the numbering continued from the Acts of 1818 (the first act of 1819 is listed as Chapter 126). In the publication of Private and Special Statutes, the numbering is as it should be, starting with Chapter 1. Because the convention was to restart numbering each year at 1 and it appears this way in one of the two publications, the titles for the Acts in this collection are numbered 1 through 166 instead of CXXVI (126) to CCXCI (291) in the digitized pages.
